Inglourious Basterds (2009)

On the eve of the Academy Awards, I was hoping to catch a potential Best Picture winner.  As it turns out, the likelier winner in my mind is Christoph Waltz for Best Supporting Actor who is brilliant as the Nazi “Jew Hunter”.  In this World War II historical fantasy he faces off against Brad Pitt, the leader of the Nazi-scalping American soldiers known as “The Basterds”.  As is typical of Tarantino, the dialogue is brilliant, the directorial techniques are creative, and the violence is bloody.  It’s not quite Pulp Fiction, but it is quite entertaining.

Grade: B+

    I thought this movie was almost flawless. It was just so enjoyable seeing Nazis getting killed.
