When a DVD’s most prominent critical acclaim is by Larry King (“The twist at the end will blow your mind”), then you’ve got to wonder about the quality. It wasn’t that bad, though. Like its predecessor The DaVinci Code, this movie features Hanks as Robert Langdon, an expert symbologist. This time he’s trying to find four Catholic Cardinals who have supposedly been kidnapped by an ancient secret society. Of course it’s a race against time and one crazy location always leads to another. It’s rather long, far-fetched at times (not unlike the National Treasure movies), and a bit gory at others, but I generally found it to be pretty entertaining. Not brilliant, but worth a rent.
