X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

Published by Jay at 9:13 am under 2009,Action

Starring Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber
Directed by Gavin Hood
Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of action and violence, and some partial nudity
1 hour 47 minutes

Man is born with special powers. Man gets mad at the world. Man seeks revenge on his enemies. If you’re really into the X-Men movies or comic book movies in general, you’ll probably enjoy this film. If not, it’s pretty mediocre. Sure, there’s some pretty spectacular special effects and Hugh Jackman can lean back and yell with the best of them, but the plot isn’t all that impressive.  I guess that’s the way I have felt about other Marvel movies I have seen, most notably the disappointing Spider Man 3 and only slightly better Iron Man.  It might be worth seeing, but I’d wait for the DVD.
